I was playing around with our new point-and-shoot camera that also captures 720p (HD) video. Below is the result from my favorite room in the house, the game room.

Which One For Christmas?

It's early I know, but we've started putting together our Christmas list (or Xboxmas list as I like to call it). I suppose I'll be able to get one action figure and, of course, I can't decide. As of now, I'm thinking one of the following (more after the break). Shoot me an email and let me know what you think. By the way, all are Hot Toys.

Halo 3: ODST Firefight Hands-on

I was at E3 this year and got a chance to play Halo 3: ODST’s new coop mode Firefight. In this mode you play one of 4 players that fight increasingly difficult waves of Covenant enemies. Talking with a Microsoft (or maybe it was Bungie) employee, this game mode does not take place on the multiplayer maps (unlike Gears of War 2’s Horde), but instead maps based on the campaign levels. You play as an ODST (not a Spartan or Elite) and spawn with a new scoped SMG (which feels really good) and pistol (more like the one from the original Halo). The HUD is different, with grenades and weapon information in the bottom left and right. Across the top is a horizontal compass with red indicators when taking damage of the direction it’s coming from. Also, medals now pop-up in the middle of the screen, not the left like in Halo 3.
Play It Loud!

My youngest son, Jacob (6), and I were going to the toy store this past weekend. During the drive he said “Dad, do you know why I like it when just us go out together?” I reply asking why and his response is “because then we can listen to Heavy Metal! Play it loud!” Of course we’re in my wife’s Sienna so the selection was limited. But, like any true fan, I always have access to Heavy Metal and popped in a disc. The rest of the drive had us playing air guitar and drums!

Can you really put a price on snagging quality Action Figures? As always, I recommend hooking ASAP whenever a new dude is found. This course of action however can prove to be...a bit unsettling on the homefront from time to time :)
